Lesson 8: To Build a Side Hustle, All You Need is 15 Minutes
And Improve 100x.
Hi there,
It’s me again. Hope this week is treating you well.
If you have read my content, I’ve been writing online for more than a year now and each day I don’t write more than 100 words. Some days even less.
Weekends are the only time I write around for 1 hour.
I fell in love with writing, so now I am balancing my job and writing online.
If you are in similar situation and want to write, here’s the game plan for you.
#1 Stick for 15 mins everyday
You don’t need to write for hours to become consistent or write more.
All you need is 15 minutes of focus time to write something. You can use this time to write:
About your day
Any great quote that you resonate with
Any great talk/discussion that you had with anyone
I try to write a certain amount each day, five days a week. A rule sometimes broken is better than no rule. - Herman Wouk
#2 Do experiments to unlock your creative side
That’s the power of sticking around for the long term i can actually work on your craft and learn what is working and what isn’t.
It can give you massive amount of creativity and freedom to explore.
Take the pressure off and instead explore your limits.
Use patience to build your power
Not in a lazy way but in a sustainable and productive way. You know burn out is rea. If you try to do more then necessary eventually you will feel burn out and stop loving what you like most.
Put a habit to write 100 words every day to improve your craft and experiment.
In the long run, being patient, sticking around and working hard.
That’s what makes the difference between successful and not.
#3 Create an action plan for your week or month.
There is nothing wrong to prepare a plan that you know can work for most days,
You can set your writing time in morning or evening, or time that you feel you have less of distractions and can accomplish our writing goals.
You can start with weekly planning and slowly go for monthly. Along with that you can set how many articles you want to publish every week or month and reverse engineer to meet the goals.
#4 Repeat
What you do every day matters more than what you do once in a while.
You don’t have to disrupt your current routine. Start small and make a tiny change at a time.
When you write every day for 30 days, that’s something.
#5 Enjoy tiny achievements
It’s all about patting your back and treating to yourself. If you’re able to publish something in a week, sit back and high five to yourself.
Sense of accomplishment can lead you to be consistent and trying out different things.
These are a few simple things that you can do in your day-to-day life without burning yourself out.
All The Best!
Love,
Ankita
