Lesson 20: Side Hustle Doesn’t Mean Burning out
It actually means to enjoy every bit of it
Hello there,
Hope you are good!
Today is the time for lesson number 20. ( jeez, time flies!)
Well- today we will talk about how you can work on you side-hustle without missing out on your life and over exhausting yourself.
I know the feeling to chill-out and relax after a long hectic day.
Working on your side hustle doesn’t mean you should stop living or burning yourself out.
If you are working on your side hustle along with your job it can do serious damage to your physical and mental health.
But with some right intention and planning, you can define how you want to work on your side hustle that can bring joy and satisfaction.
What can you eliminate:
I get it. Trying to squeeze in a part-time creator thing around your job, feels like a mountain too big to climb.
But if you want anything, you must be willing to let go of something else.
Here’s what I have given up to be a part-time creator:
TV time — I used to watch TV from 7 pm to 10 pm, now I probably watch TV for half an hour a night, and some days no TV, and I am okay with that. The latest TV shows and movies can wait. they are not going anywhere.
Scrolling time — I kind of stop using social media platforms pretty much which means I spend very little time scrolling.
I am on a 2-month streak without Instagram. And I am no longer active on Facebook and Tik-Tok.
Meal prep — This saves a lot of time for me. I do meal prep for 1-2 days in advance and have quick fixes prepared for breakfast and evening snacks.
Creating a routine
Here is how you can get some time back every day:
Reduce the commute to work , unnecessary work meetings (if possible )
Build systematics routines to do your daily activities
Automate as much as you can
Delegate
Start with something tiny
Start something very small that doesn’t take any effort at all and time to complete.
Once you do that, every week add some extra minutes.
In next 4-5 weeks, you will notice that you can accomplish more than you intended and it will motivate you to stick to it.
Don’t stop living
Building your side hustle doesn’t mean that you stop living and enjoying your life.
It’s all about finding the balance and doing things that make you happy and alive.
Keep your hobbies, keep your dinners, keep your outside-of-work things.
This is not about hiding in a room and behind laptop screen to create contents.
It’s not about living less of a life.
It’s about building sustainably and best ideas comes from living.
Create for 15 minutes a day and see how it goes.
All the best!
Love,
Ankita
