Hello there,
Last week Thursday, I didn’t send out the newsletter. Sorry for that.
It’s because I have been thinking and rethinking the intention of this newsletter and why I want to continue.
So I have renamed this newsletter to Part-time Creator's Newsletter to help you build something that you truly love.
My intentions are still the same, and I want you to live happier and healthier every day through this newsletter whenever it arrives in your inbox :)
Realization
A few weeks back, I came across the term and the concept behind "Quiet Quitting".
Quiet quitting isn't about turning in your two weeks notice and hopping from one job to another to find what's working and what's not.
It's all about a mindset based on work-life balance, avoiding burnout, and staying loyal to yourself, and your core values.
To make the better choice every day to become happier, healthier, and more successful than yesterday.
With time, I am realizing that most of you chase things that are not going to mean anything after a certain time.
Just like chasing that dream job title.
When I started my career, everyone around told me just a decade and some, I will reach the vice president level and that would mean you have arrived.
But as I started progressing in my career and life, I realized that the job title doesn't mean much and that is not a criteria for being successful.
I love working and specially the kind of work I get to do every day.
Your job isn't your life. Your job is what you do to afford your life.
What matters most is what impact you are making and how it's aligned with your core values.
You see when everyone is progressing, building, and taking on more and more responsibility,
I am taking inspiration from saying no, thank you. That’s not what I see as success.
Instead, let’s write your own rulebook.
To me, success means working on myself to be better every day, growing at my own pace, and working on things I genuinely enjoy.
Working on a side
Life is not white and black, left or right. Certainly is not your work.
We all exist somewhere in between those grey areas.
You can work a 9–5 and work on the side.
The stability of the 9–5 and the thrill of creation. The routine and the fire.
You can’t have everything but you can have anything.
That’s it.
You can be a part-time creator and a full-time worker.
That’s what I am going to call myself now onwards. And hence the title of this newsletter.
You don't need to choose
I am still learning and working on my content-creating craft.
I like when people resonate with my content when someone new signups to my newsletter.
This is a thrill for sure to see new faces who appreciate what I offer. I will continue to bring the same values and some more.
I like spending my Saturday morning tapping out some words, working on my weekly content, and shutting off from the world to create something new.
Some day I love the fact when I have an idea on my walk or a conversation sparks an article. Such as this one.
Life as a part-time creator
I’m a part-time creator. Not trying to escape or to build a unicorn.
Just loving the idea to build something up on the side, something that is my own.
I am nowhere earning a dime out of it and that is okay.
I don’t need to choose one thing over the other.
It works for me and it can work for you too.
Try it.
Love,
Ankita
