I am unsure if this is happening with just me or with you as well.
Everyone I talk these days (in-person or phone or zoom) says this exact thing after 5 minute into the conversation :
“I don’t have time to do xyz..” or “I am very busy” or …
Something under similar lines.
Specially while on a phone or a zoom call, when other person is so distracted even to have a 2 minute chat.
It seems like everyone is constantly distracted and overwhelmed with their hectic schedules.
It has sparked a question:
Are we genuinely this busy?
or is it merely a new trend to showcase how fast-paced and productive our lives are?
It appears that we are taking the hustle culture to an extreme, creating an illusion of perpetual busyness.
Life is short, limited, and valuable. isn’t?
As I pondered over this question, I came up with some reasons for this growing trend:
It’s a new way to call themselves being “productive.”
It’s all comes down to priorities.
There’s an excuse for everything.
Making life harder than it needs to be. Because who doesn’t love hard work…right?
We all have 24 hours:
The simple fact is we all have the same 24 hours.
You and I, everyone.
If you want to achieve something big, it takes time.
And that time must be found.
Somewhere in those 24 hours.
It lies in your current schedule, and we all need to find that.
I agree, we all need 8 hours sleep, catering to family needs, and daily life hustle.
Something to think about…
So, next time someone says, "I don't have time," or "I am very busy," take a moment to ponder their priorities.
Are they genuinely occupied with essential tasks,
or are they using busyness as an illusion of productivity?
Reflect on your own life as well…
What keeps you busy, and how do you make use of your free time?
Rather than resorting to the easy excuse of being busy, let's consider what truly matters to you and allocate your time accordingly.
