As A Creator, Showing Up Is Your Underrated Superpower
Showing up is most of life’s success!
Hello there,
If you have been reading my content on LinkedIn, Medium or Newsletter, you know I talk frequently about the power of showing up and consistency.
No matter how much my stat dips or how busy I get in real life, I tried not to miss posting my content online.
And it’s real hard to stay motivated and consistent.
A few times, I have taken significant sabbatical from online platform ( for now it’s Instagram) but I’ll never truly “go away.”
And so, I tell this to every writer I meet: don’t give up.
Be consistent for a few years in whatever you do and your life will change so much, that you wouldn’t even recognize yourself.
More than you, your mindset will elevate if you keep showing up.
The formula for success is 2% talent, 8% luck, and 90% of showing up every day.― Jeffrey Fry
Help you build a system
When I started writing online, it usually took me days to find topic, write, edit, formatting, researching before hitting publish button. And for long time, I managed to publish 1 article per week.
Slowly but it helped me build a system, routine to find what’s working and what’s not.
It drastically improves input and the final product.
These might sound minor improvement, but compounded over a few years, these can turn out to be genuinely life-changing.
And just being there is ninety-nine percent of what matters when your world falls apart. ― Holly Goldberg Sloan,
Help you build a community
Whether an article gets 100K views or 10, it helped you build and find community that resonate with your work and what you have to say.
So carve a niche for yourself and build your voice on any online platform.
Your content’s success or failure doesn’t matter at the end. It the intention how you can help people succeed and excel in their life.
Help you being Vulnerable
Sharing content online is not all about showing your success, glory and what not.
It’s also about sharing your own struggle, failure, days when you are not motivated to show up.
The purpose is to normalize failure, rejections, struggle that most online creator shy away sharing.
Like everything in life, you have to pass the hurdle, hardships that usually comes with the success territory.
The key is to build a growth mindset, keep showing up, persevere to achieve your audacious goals.
I have frequently written about how all these things can actually help you become come successful and happier everyday.
Love,
Ankita
