In the last two years, I have published 441 articles and more than 100 newsletters while working full-time in a demanding job.
It feels surreal and if I look back, I am not sure how I managed to publish 416+ articles.
When I first started writing, I was overwhelmed by the amount of content online.
It scared me.
I was convinced that I would never have the time, willpower, creativity, or smart brain cells to write that much especially given the fact that I definitely did not have time to write.
Definitely not.
It all happened because I took on the challenge to write one article at a time. All this while I have experimented a lot.
And to write on different topics like health, side hustle, self-improvement, productivity, writing, woman’s life and many more.
It helped me to earn 15x top writer tag on Medium.
I frequently get asked by friends and online readers how I manage to write consistently while juggling a demanding full time job.
So here I am, sharing my secrets on how I write every day, allowing me to publish 15+ articles every month.
Apply this strategy to help you start writing and build your personal brand without leaving your job.
1/ Choose Topics Exciting to You:
I love researching topics related to healthy living, self-improvement techniques, and online writing.
Consequently, I produce a lot of content on these subjects.
If you regularly read my work, you’ll notice the patterns and my frequent articles on these topics.
It’s because I’m genuinely passionate about them, and they contribute to my personal growth.
If you’re new to writing, consider:
What piques your curiosity.
What topics people often discuss with you.
Subjects that genuinely interest you.
The best approach is to start, and you can refine your focus gradually.
2/ Don’t Wait for Inspiration to Strike:
Two years ago, I often found myself staring at a blank page or a laptop screen for hours or writing content that didn’t seem good enough.
Waiting for inspiration to strike can be a roadblock.
Inspiration often comes from taking action.
After experimenting with various strategies, I began writing one headline every day to generate new ideas.
Another effective method for me is to take a walk to declutter my mind and gather fresh ideas.
Discover what helps you get closer to your writing goals; there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
3/ Chase the Flow State:
To achieve a flow state, eliminate distractions from your environment.
Turn off notifications on your devices
Find a quiet workspace, and keep it clutter-free.
Personally, playing a particular song on a loop helps me focus and enter a flow state while writing.
You can find your own flow-inducing strategies.
4/ Keep Perfection at Bay:
When I began writing, I’d edit and re-edit my articles numerous times, often reading them over a hundred times to achieve perfection.
This perfectionism only delayed my progress because I spent so much time refining my work that I couldn’t publish articles regularly.
Letting go of perfectionism all I needed at that time
I realized that perfection might never be attainable.
Instead, focus on making each article better than the last.
Set a goal to write and publish, and if your article is decent, publish it.
Your aim is to connect with your audience, and that’s sufficient for now.
Lastly:
So, if you are new here and want to create something for yourself, let me share some secrets to achieve massive success:
there is no one way to write

let go of perfectionism
start living your life more intentionally
eliminate the fear of rejection

Forget about being professional or an expert.
